The Prompt Lover salutes SNL “Jizz in my Pants” dudes
The Prompt Lover takes his condom off to the “Jizz In My Pants” guys from the recent SNL digital short by Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island troupe. “I guess great minds think alike and have the same awesome sexual disorders.” See for yourself:
And here again is our Prompt Lover (from 2006):
“Those guys got it right”, says the loin-stoccoing Casanova, “but need to work on their follow-through”. He offers this mentoring because he’s been doing “it” longer (”As a teenager, I gave new meaning to “Look Ma, no hands”).
The Prompt Lover says the similarity between him and the “Jizz in my Pants” dudes puts them along with famous people in history who arrived at the same great idea independently. “I’m thinking of Charles Darwin and that other guy [Alfred Russel Wallace] who each came up with the Theory of Relativity about the same time. But the jizz is on Darwin because without You Tube he’ll fade into obscurity.”
When asked how women respond to his no-touch lovemaking, he says they love it. “They’re flattered. Any guy can say “You look nice”, but I prove it”.
When not playing Frisbee with yesterday’s underwear, for a fee he’ll deliver a “Jizz-O-Gram” (”Say it with an orgasm”) to the one you love. He hopes to grow the business and start franchising next year.

These skits aren’t word-for-word identical but one certainly seems suspiciously similar to the other. Note the dates. I’m surprised more hasn’t been made of the connection. It would be interesting to see what the writers at SNL have to say about it. I guess ideas aren’t protected but still…

Laughed so hard I peed my pants… oh, no, wait… that’s not pee.

Come on, one is a sketch and another is a well thought out song that is way funnier. The idea of jizzing prematurely has been used in comedy before like in American Pie.

Fair comment. I’m probably the only person in North America who hasn’t seen American Pie. Even my wife’s seen it. Nobody’s saying SNL jacked our sketch. We’re just saying Jizz in my Pants and The Prompt Lover happen to be a lot alike: guy dances with girl. They go to kiss, he creams and isn’t embarrassed. Then he’s jizzing at a fleeting glance. There’s a discussion about all this on the SNL chat board if you’re interested: http://boards.nbc.com/nbc/index.php?showtopic=812632

I believe it was Einstein who discovered the theory of relativity. Darwin was into evolution, among other things.
The two entertainments definitely have a similar theme, but I must say I liked Sketchmates better! The guy’s face and body movements are hilarious!

These are nowhere near the same… stupid.

Who cares who was first? But the Jizz video was much better, sorry.

Ya know you’re right, Anonymous, because the character in The Prompt Lover isn’t jizzing in his pants at all. His convulsions are early onset MS, and we thought it would be too funny to rib people who are coping with disease.
But I have to agree with the “stupid” part. As a troupe, we have the collective intelligence of a Louisville Slugger. On a good day, I’m barely aware of my own existence. A better indication is that I’m responding to this comment.

Eh, who doesn’t care to have their ideas known? Have you ever stood up and said “I have an idea, but who cares?” We’re not saying Sketch Mates owns the idea. But because compared to SNL we’re about the size of an atom in a food tray in the NBC cafeteria, we need to say we did ours years earlier. If we don’t, The Prompt Lover will be dismissed as a knock-off of Jizz in my Pants.
And hey I totally respect your opinion to say Jizz is “better”, but I disagree with it with my entire heart and intestinal gases. Jizz in my Pants and The Prompt Lover use the same premise in different ways, and each has its own advantages: Jizz is set up to exploit more jizzing, and Prompt exploits more of the denial aspect. Both skits are funny. It’s a matter of opinion whether you prefer the characterization to the physical comedy.
